NAYLOR CONCRETE INVESTS IN WATER RECYCLING

Designed by three members of the Naylor Concrete production and engineering team – Keith Nixon, Darren Quinn and Shaun Birks - the new system will save around 8,000 litres of water per day which equates to around two million litres of water per year. As the water is purified before being pumped into a new 20,000 litre holding tank, it will also minimise the amount of polluted water which is released into the environment.

Adrian Ibbitson, Operations Director for Naylor Concrete, comments: “At Naylor Concrete we are continually looking for innovative ways to improve our manufacturing capabilities and, importantly, to reduce our impact on the environment. This latest innovation will enable us to ensure we have a continuous supply of water for a key part of our manufacturing process while helping to protect the local water supply and reduce our environmental footprint.”

Naylor Concrete is also planning to invest in the purchase of a second water holding tank at the site later this year. This holding tank will store rainwater which will be used in batching plants and for power washing.
