As part of Naylor’s commitment to delivering net zero carbon, an environmental product declaration (EPD) is now available for products in Naylor Concrete’s XtraFire lintel range. The new EPD will provide customers and end users with a thorough cradle-to-grave carbon impact assessment which covers every part of the product lifecycle from raw material extraction and manufacture through to installation and disposal.
Of particular value to specifiers working on BREEAM projects, the EPD not only provides an overall carbon burden for XtraFire products but also gives specific figures for the environmental impact of every stage of the product lifecycle, enabling specifiers to see where most emissions are created.
An accompanying ‘Carbon Footprint Manufacture’ document is also being created for the XtraFire concrete lintel range to help contractors and merchants compare the carbon footprint of the range against products made by other manufacturers.
Helen MacIntosh, Technical and Development Director of Naylor Concrete, comments: “Naylor Concrete has a 60 year track record in the manufacture of high performance concrete products and, like other businesses in the Naylor family, a long standing track record in the delivery of innovative, market leading solutions. Developed by our in-house technical team, this EPD is the second in a series which is being created for Naylor Concrete products and which will help customers and the wider construction make net zero carbon a reality.” The EPD for Naylor Concrete’s XtraFire lintel range along with a copy of Naylor’s wider Net Zero Strategy document can be downloaded at www.naylorconcrete.co.uk/net-zero/
